First Birthday!

Such a fun first year FULL to the brim with the Lord's provision, faithfulness and mercies!
Joseph means "God will increase" and Asher means "happiness."  We have seen the Lord bless our family so much and He has given us a happy little boy who has brought so much joy, depth and richness to our home.  I just could not have imagined.  The Lord has taught us about how He loves and delights in us, made real the crazy sacrifice of sending Jesus, His Son, to die for us, and the sweet responsibility to make His works known to the next generation.  It is hard to put into words how much having this little guy has been an avenue for the Lord to reveal more about His character and desires for us.  OVERWHELMING!

The birthday celebrations started a week before his birthday when Memaw came and brought him his new little chair!  He loves it and is working on climbing in and out of it.

Sarah and her boys came for the weekend and we met them at the Dallas Zoo!  We knew Joseph would get so excited because he thinks the black crows in the grass in front of our apartment are super exciting:)

You can get so close to the giraffes!

Memaw and Papaw were flying through Dallas that night, so we invaded their hotel and had a little cake for Joseph, the boys swam and enjoyed the evening!

He didn't grab the candle even though it looks like he almost got it:)

On Sunday we celebrated with Memi and Grandpa Larry.  He loves his new little car!  They have a cat that he chased around, too.  They both wanted to see each other, but not get too close.

He LOVED the birthday noisemaker- blowout-thing.  He would take it from Paul because he wanted to do it, but couldn't figure out how so would hand it right back to Paul, over and over.

However, he did NOT love the birthday hat.  If you look close you can see his SCREAMING face when he had it on.  He ran from them the rest of the day.

He got lots of sweet cards from family and friends.  We are so blessed to be raising him in great community and fellowship.  Happy Birthday to our little man!
